Everyone at Paget Rangers is absolutely heartbroken to learn that legendary Paget manager Eddie Caulfield has passed away.
Eddie Caulfield was a legendary manager on the West Midlands non-league circuit throughout the 80s and 90s. Eddie guided Paget Rangers to promotion to the Southern League twice, winning the inaugural Midland Football Alliance championship with the Bears in 1994/95. Whilst Paget boss Eddie also won the Midland Combination League Cup (twice), the West Midlands Regional League Cup, the Walsall Senior Cup, the Tony Alden Memorial Cup, the Sutton Coldfield Charity Cup (twice) and the Lord Mayor of Birmingham’s Charity Cup.
During a stellar managerial career Eddie Caulfield also enjoyed managerial spells with Redditch United, Sutton Coldfield Town and Dudley Town, but it will be for Paget Rangers where he is most fondly remembered.
Paget Rangers chairman Matthew Dainty said: ‘Everyone at the club is heartbroken to learn of the passing of our legendary former manager Eddie Caulfield. As a child I grew up watching Eddie’s super successful Paget sides of the 1990s. He was a great leader, a mentor to all who played under him and a superb football manager who took Paget to their highest ever league position. RIP Eddie!’
